Powered water sports has steadily grown over the years and more people are taking to our waters than ever before.  From cruising our inland waterways with family, wake boarding, water-skiing, coastal trips and channel crossings or even a quick trip to the Scilly Isles. From a small boat with a 5-hp engine to a 50-ft motor cruiser, there is something for everyone who takes to the sea.

The owner of the company, Simon Beecher has been teaching water sports for over 18 years.  He along with a small crew of highly qualified and experienced instructors are dedicated to passing on their knowledge and skills that they have acquired throughout their varied seagoing careers.

Our aim at 8 Degrees West is to promote safety at sea in all aspects of powered water sports

8 Degrees West is Cork’s first dedicated powerboat training facility. We offer a range of ISA courses and also structure courses to suite commercial users, dive clubs and rescue units as well as powerboat owners.

8 Degrees West is based in Kinsale. A stones throw away from the excellent boating ground of Cork Harbour and the gateway to the west of Ireland, A natural harbour that offers all the challenges that one would encounter in Irish waters with its shipping channel, marinas, tidal waters, sheltered beaches and rough sea’s in the outer harbour.
